Acceptance and eligibility

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Alnuir (“Alnuir,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing the Aure mobile application, website, and related services (together, “Aure” or the “Services”). By creating an account, downloading, accessing, or using Aure, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Aure.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Aure only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Aure is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use the Services.

What Aure provides

Aure helps you understand food through barcode and Nutrition Facts label scanning, food and nutrient data, a Heart Index, personalized nutrition insights, scan history, daily nutrition summaries, streaks, and a Heart Score. Features may change as Aure improves.

Results depend on the information available from a label, barcode database, your profile, and your own entries. Product formulations and database records can change, so you should check the physical package when accuracy matters.

Wellness, not medical care

Heart Index scores, Heart Scores, nutrition targets, and AI-generated insights are estimates and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your circumstances. Do not use Aure to make urgent or high-risk medical decisions. Always consult a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional about a medical condition, medication, allergy, dietary restriction, or individualized nutrition plan. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Accounts and security

You may register with email and password or Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.

Subscriptions and purchases

Some Aure features or scan allowances may require a paid subscription. Prices, billing period, trial terms, and included features are shown before purchase. Subscriptions purchased through Apple are billed to your Apple ID, renew automatically unless canceled, and are managed through your App Store subscription settings. Apple’s payment and refund rules apply, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

We may change future pricing or plan features with notice required by law or the applicable app store. Canceling stops future renewal but does not ordinarily refund the current billing period.

Your inputs and content

You retain your rights in information you submit, including profile details, food entries, label images, corrections, and feedback. You grant Alnuir a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, and use those materials only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve Aure, comply with law, and honor your settings.

You represent that you have the right to provide your inputs and that they do not violate another person’s rights or applicable law. Feedback may be used to improve Aure without compensation or attribution, but this does not transfer ownership of your personal data.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• use Aure for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive activity;
• interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass the security or access controls of the Services;
• use bots, scraping, or automated methods to extract data or access Aure without our written permission;
• reverse engineer, copy, resell, or exploit Aure except where applicable law expressly allows it;
• upload malicious code, infringing material, or content you do not have a right to use; or
• misrepresent Aure results as professional medical advice or use them to provide medical care.

Third-party services and data

Aure relies on third parties for services such as authentication and cloud storage, AI processing, food and nutrient databases, subscriptions, notifications, and app distribution. Third-party data may be incomplete or outdated, and those providers may apply their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

Aure ownership

Aure—including its software, design, brand, scoring methods, text, graphics, and other content provided by us—is owned by Alnuir or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Aure for your own non-commercial purposes.

Availability, changes, and termination

We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of Aure, including free or paid features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. You may stop using Aure at any time and can delete your account through the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk for users or the Services, or if required by law.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—will remain in effect.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aure is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or results. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alnuir and its officers, employees, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from Aure. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Aure during the 12 months before the claim or US $50. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Alnuir against third-party claims resulting from your unlawful use of Aure, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

General terms and contact

Applicable law governs these Terms without limiting any non-waivable consumer rights you have where you live. Before filing a formal claim, you and Alnuir agree to make a good-faith effort for 30 days to resolve the issue informally by email. Any unresolved matter may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about Aure. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, or sale; you may not assign them without our consent.

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will provide notice as required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms. Questions may be sent to terms@alnuir.com.
